Sheetal Ranganathan is a biomedical scientist, healthcare strategist, investor, and business leader with over two decades of experience spanning life sciences, healthcare, analytics, digital transformation, and corporate strategy. Beginning her career with a foundation in human biology and medical biotechnology, she transitioned into business strategy and has since held leadership positions across global healthcare and life sciences organizations. Most notably, she served as Chief Strategy Officer at Roche Pharma India, where she was responsible for strategic portfolio planning, digital transformation, value partnerships, and initiatives aimed at integrating technology and data-driven decision-making across the patient journey. Prior to Roche, she held senior leadership roles at Evalueserve, including leading its Life Sciences and Healthcare business.
At the intersection of science, business, and healthcare innovation, Sheetal has worked extensively on translating emerging technologies and scientific advances into commercially and clinically relevant solutions. Her interests span digital health, healthcare access, life-sciences innovation, data and analytics, and the evolving role of technology in medicine. She has also contributed to India’s healthcare innovation ecosystem as a mentor to the Innovation Unit of the National Health Authority, supporting initiatives designed to improve the market access and adoption pathways available to health-tech ventures. She has been an active contributor to public discourse on healthcare and science, with writings and perspectives appearing across publications and policy platforms including Mint, Financial Express, India Today and the Observer Research Foundation.
Alongside her corporate career, Sheetal has been closely engaged with India’s life-sciences and start-up ecosystem as a mentor and investor. Her work reflects a particular focus on bridging the gap between scientific discovery and scalable enterprise creation—combining an understanding of biomedical science with strategy, market development, capital, and commercialization.
Sheetal is an alumna of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, where she earned a BSc (Hons) in Human Biology and a Master’s in Medical Biotechnology, and subsequently completed an MBA from Xavier Institute of Management. Extending her engagement with science beyond business and investing, she is also the co-author, with Anand Ranganathan, of Forgotten Heroes of Indian Science, which chronicles the contributions of pioneering Indian scientists and their role in shaping the country’s scientific legacy.
